Meet the Staff: Hello my name is Steve Moore, I am the owner of Tilden in Golden. My Grandfather and Dad opened a Skelly Gas Station in Mount Ayr Iowa in 1938 (see photo below). My father eventually opened Longmont Auto Electric and that is where I grew up. I developed a love for mechanical things and enjoyed the time working with my Dad and Granddad. After being discharged from the Air Force my father ask me if I wanted to buy the family business. I said “I love you Dad, but no way no how am I going to do this for the rest of my life”. I went to New Mexico State University and got a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Hewlett Packard hired me right out of school where I worked directly supporting customers for 22 years. In 2002 I was laid off due to downsizing. I needed something to do and so did my son Drew. So together we started Tilden in Golden. I have worked at putting the best talent together with state of the art equipment so we can deliver high quality car care.
